The trust document states that Loans may be made for any purpose in the Trustees’ discretion and…may be made on any terms, with or without security….
While loans are for any purpose, we anticipate that requests would generally be made by beneficiaries to help support life’s important decisions and events (education, home ownership, home renovation, down payment support, travel with a purpose, unexpected critical needs, changes in family structure, employment gaps, future opportunities, and others we have not thought of…)
Loans are available with simple interest at the lowest allowed federal rate, which recently (Feb. 2020) has been under 1.6% per year for most loans. They may be interest only for a period of time, or include interest and principal payments together (like a mortgage) so that at the end of the term they are paid off.
Your trust has already issued several loans to support education.
